When the sorority first announced that they would be
going co-ed next term,
it was the main topic of conversation on campus. The idea of a Greek house
becoming co-ed was novel.
Most of the students were content with their current
residences, be they dorms, other Greek houses, or simply
off-campus housing.
But for Billy and Kenny, the idea sounded
intriguing. After all, both of them
had been refused membership in pretty much every
fraternity on campus. And
both of them tended to believe that the reason they
weren't more popular was
because of that.
This could be their salvation.
So the two of them were among the first to arrive at the
sorority house during
the next Rush Week.
Kenny and Billy had never been around so many girls
before, nor had either of them ever been inside a
sorority house. They spend the
night mingling with the girls, answering questions about
themselves, and even
managing to secure an admissions interview with the House
Council. When
they finally went back to their dorm room that night,
both of them were pretty
sure of their chances of being accepted.
What the two guys didn't know about the "going co-ed
thing" was that the
sorority was actually only looking for a certain type of
male member, one that
could be molded into members the sorority could be proud
to have. And that
standard conveniently eliminated most of the male
applicants who attempted
to become members.
But not Billy and Kenny.
A few days after the Rush Week party at the sorority,
both guys received the
formal invitations to join the sorority. They were totally ecstatic when they
read the invitations, and they wasted no time packing
their belongings and
moving into the sorority house. They did notice that they seemed to be the
only
two new male members, but that was explained to them that
the other males
just didn't meet our strict criterion.
Billie and Kendra have been living in the sorority for a
little over a year now,
and the experience has been 'interesting' to say the
least. They've adjusted to
the strict sorority dress code, and the girls have really
been helpful about
instructing them in the proper methods of pleasing
others. Both of them are
positive that they aren't gay or anything. As the girls have told them, college is
all about learning an experimenting. Right?
It's so nice to be accepted.
